JOB DESCRIPTION:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a cook or assistant cook
- Training and experience in cooking for large groups
- Ability to work well with others
- Knowledge of standards of food preparation and serving and kitchen procedures
- Experience in kitchen management
- Experience in personnel management
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Train kitchen staff
- Prepare all garnishments and sauces before dinner crowd arrive
- Plan and prepare meals offered on Bayside Golf Menu
- Stock kitchen with all food and equipment throughout the season
- Function as general all round-cook for all meals and special events as needed
- Work closely with waiters/waitresses in ensuring all food is delivered to customers’ hot and fresh
- Clean and prepare food service areas for use. Close kitchen down for off season
- Evaluate current season and make recommendations for following season
- These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to lift/unload food and supplies
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Maintain appropriate inventory of food and supplies
- Prepare and direct written menus and meal plans
